Fine Italian violin by Alessandro Mezzadri, Ferrara first half of 18th century ( composit)
For sale is a beautiful old Italian violin by Alessandro Mezzadri from Ferrara. The back and the ribs are made by the master himself, the top is an Italian addition from the early 19th century. The scroll is French and made in the middle of the 18th century. Due to the fact that the violin does not belong together completely, I can offer the instrument at a very attractive price - which makes it possible to get an old Italian sound with an unbelievable delicacy and radiance. The violin has a wonderful tembre and an Italian luster, which can only be found in old Italian violins from the 18th century and for what they are famous for.
Due to the slightly smaller body length of 35.2 cm, the violin is also very comfortable to play without having to compromise on volume or power. The condition is actually very good for its age, the back has no cracks apart from a small edge repair and is in excellent condition, as are the ribs. The top has a repaired soundpost crack. The violin is sold with a certificate of authenticity from Hieronymus Köstler from Stuttgart.
